Before we sat down to record Episode 72, we had the joy of visiting our buddy Next Time at his new place of employment… Actual Brewing here in Columbus, Ohio. It’s an actual brewery that brews actual beer. And it’s ACTUALLY delicious!
Deadshot and Harley’s big adventure: A movie about a group of misfits, an unhinged witch, and a clown. I’m sorry, I meant to say Suicide Squad, which is actually a very good movie. A very good movie it may be, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t come with a few issues. This is the same thing with any movie, but just because a film has issues doesn’t mean it’s horrible.
This week we chat about the goings-on from Comic Con last week, mainly focusing on the trailers for Justice League and Wonder Woman. Both are absolutely stunning trailers, and we’re not only excited to see these new flicks, but we’re overjoyed that DC is finally coming up on Marvel’s tail with their cinematic universe.
Holy cow was this movie packed! I went into this movie wanting it to be awesome, but there was still that small part of me still thinking it might end up otherwise. That comic nerd that hides beneath the skin, like a demon suppressed underneath miles and miles of concrete. Sometimes the demon burns with such a passion that it can erupt like a volcano; destructively beautiful, yet absolutely horrifying.
So this series has been up and down since the New 52 started up, we’ve had two different Reverse Flash stories (technically); a pretty rad Grodd story, and a few Rogue run-ins. In the previous arc, Barry had to take on Professor Zoom (Eobard Thawne, yeah he’s also called the Reverse Flash, but we wont be going into that today).
For starters, this series is probably my favorite Star Wars title right now. Kieron Gillen has nailed Darth Vader’s character so flawlessly, and it makes me so happy! The best part about this book is we never hear what Vader is thinking, which makes his character even more intriguing.
Inhumans are starting to be a big thing in the Marvel Universe, and I’m loving it! Yes, they may be getting out of control with all the books they’re in now, BUT they are still being done right! That being said, this Karnak book is perfection in every sense of the word!
First and foremost, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the fact that Marco’s art work in this series, and well...any series he works on is freaking out of this world! If I could draw half as well as Marco, my life would change drastically. He has a very unique style that is just only a little off from being photo realistic.
Civil War! What an epic showdown. In this episode we get into a big discussion about the movie, things we loved and hated, and overall opinions on the film and its characters. Also part of the discussion is Fallout 4, Battlefield 1, and of course, our episodely beer review!
Join us as we inject our thoughts & opinions of Star Wars along with the film. This is part of an ongoing series we'll be doing - fanboys making fun of the very movies we love! If you appreciate Star Wars as much as we do, you know all the little mistakes and plot holes throughout the movies. We're really excited to share our inside jokes with everyone - and we want to know yours as well! Enjoy the movie!
How many The Force Awakens fan theories will we tackle? The world may never know... On this episode we speculate on Rey's parents (yes, again!), Kylo's role in The First Order, and some plot holes from Episode III (Revenge Of The Sith).
We've been talking about getting Xbox Ones since we started the damn podcast... and, well... it finally happened! We're easing our way into the new consoles by firing up our favorite title, Battlefield 4!
Thanks to Danny Beck for chatting with us about Star Wars, The Force Awakens, his art style and influences, Batman v. Superman, our favorite movie soundtracks, and his time as a video game artist at Blizzard Studios and now Riot Games.
I think we can all agree, those of us who watch Game of Thrones, that Tyrion is probably the coolest freaking guy on the show! Peter Dinklage just owns that part like no tomorrow. Personally I cannot wait for this show to come back on April 24! This show, whether it is a slow episode, or a crazy action packed episode leaves you thirsty for more!
After hearing about the possibility of Poe Dameron getting his own comic book, I was skeptical... until they announced the creative team. Those of you who are familiar with the comic industry will recognize the following names immediately, but for anyone who is not, I highly suggest you check out more of their work.
Next Time is a beer geek in Columbus, and on this particular visit to the podcast, he decided to school us in the art of Bourbon barrel ales. The content was strong but delicious as we sifted through four different beers with varying intensity and flavor.
It's simple - fire up your copy of your (least) favorite Batman movie, download one of these podcast episodes, and hop to it! We'll help you sync up our voices with the film, then it's just a matter of trying not to vomit on yourself when you see Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne.

Dr. Strange is a fictional character created by Marvel studios. He spends his time dabbling in magic, and traveling through many different dimensions. Usually most of his comics are very psychedelic, so I was uncertain of how that would translate to the big screen. Especially since most of his solo title series never last long, they never generate enough revenue for Marvel to keep them on the shelves.
We know that the events of the first two Avengers films, and Winter Solider have severally pissed off the entire world. Okay, maybe not the entire world, some may be thankful for their lives being spared, but a little peeved that their homes were destroyed. Damn Avengers, always showing up and blowing stuff up.
You asked questions, we attempted to answer them (before drinking too much). Thanks for everyone who submitted questions! If you missed the original post and would like to ask a question the next time around, check us out on Instagram
Daisy confirms that she does know who they are, and that she has known all along! Of course, her lips are sealed on the real answer, but she does mention that for Rey, who her parents are is not the most important thing.
